The Cheapest Wedding in Bacolod

Having a cheap wedding is an easy thing to do, especially in Bacolod. However, "cheap" isn't exactly true. It's only "cheap" when compared to the other option.

The reason "cheap" isn't a true option is because of the marriage license fee and all the paperwork involved. It'll likely cost you around 2000 pesos for the license when all the copies, NSO certificates, and other miscellaneous fees are accounted for.

As well, don't think you are going to get this done quickly. Actually, it takes 10 days for the office to get the paperwork ready. The 10 days don't start counting until after you completed marriage counselling (only on Tuesdays and Thursdays). If you are working, you'll likely have to take time off. Thus, that's more cost out of your pocket.

Once you received your license, you can now go to a judge or minister (lawyers cannot do it). The cheapest I have seen is at the San Sebastian Cathedral for 1,000 pesos. This is called the "general service" and there is not a ceremony. This means that friends and family cannot attend. It's only you, your spouse, your sponsors (only 2 or 3!) and the priest. For this, you'll still have to attend another marriage counselling session. It takes around 2 hours and you'll need an appointment.

If you want to go the quickest route, get your license and then find a judge to do the service. Judges cost around 2,000 pesos (some charge more). If you are lucky, you can find one that will do the service anywhere you choose, so you can have it in a romantic spot or even at your own home.

For these two services you can wear whatever you wish (as long as it is tasteful), so the cost of the wedding gown and suit can be thrown out of the window. You also have the choice of your own wedding reception!

Total cost can be as little as 3,000 pesos, as long as you don't mind wearing the clothes on your back and don't care if your family attends.
