Places in Bacolod to Get Married

Bacolod is full of churches, hotels, and many great attractions. However, not all of these locations are open to weddings. In fact, one of the most beautiful churches (Carmelite) don't even allow weddings to take place there.

So where can you get married in Bacolod?

  • Your local Catholic Church - Almost every barangay in Bacolod has a Catholic Church dedicated to serving the individuals living in the area. This is why if you are Catholic and want to get married at a non-local church, you have to pay your local church around 1,000 pesos to allow it to happen.
  • San Sebastian Cathedral - This is the easiest Catholic Church to get married at that isn't your local church. They are available on most days (but if you want to get married on Sunday, you'll have to choose an obscure time). You also don't have to reserve your wedding date months ahead of time like other places.
  • Lupit - This is a much more difficult location to get married at. Unless you want to pay under the table, you need a three month reservation. The good thing is that you have two choices: the church or the chapel. The chapel costs 500 pesos less and is available at almost all times. The church is rarely available due to the large amount of masses held there. My suggestion is that if you wish to get married at Lupit, either pay under the table or get married by a judge first and then reserve the day. Marriage certificates expire at 120 days, so setting your wedding date to a specific day 3 months ahead of time is a difficult process (since the church requires you to have the certificate in hand when you reserve the date).
  • Palmas Del Mar - This hotel resort offers a garden wedding package. You can get married and then hold your reception in virtually the place. Of course, Palmas Del Mar is incredibly expensive. Expect costs to be at least 120,000 pesos before you factor in clothing, transportation, gifts, and other necessities to your wedding day.
  • Nature's Village Resort - This is where my wife and I settled on for our reception. It was the best possible experience that we could have hoped for. The staff is incredibly nice and willing to do whatever possible to make sure the couple is having the best time of their lives. They have a very small chapel area to get married in, but I'm sure they can do something for you if you need more space or simply want to get married in their garden or next to the pool.
Most hotels in Bacolod do not offer a place for ceremonies, only receptions.
