L' Kaisei Japanese Restaurant has two locations in Bacolod City: along the tourism strip on Lacson St and 10th and in SM City Bacolod. However, don't be confused. Even though both have the same name, same owner, and both serve Japanese food, the menus are entirely different.
In L' Kaisei SM City Bacolod, you'll find bento boxes, bowls, sushi, and sushimi. The bento boxes are served with unlimited rice. A bento box comes with your choice of meat: chicken, pork, or squid, along with tempura eggplant, bean sprouts, rice, and sauce. Prices are 110-145 pesos (for some reason, VAT is not included).
At L' Kaisei Lacson, you'll find a much larger menu full of various Japanese foods including steaks, tofu, more sushi and sushimi choices, soups, and even wine. However, the food is not served with unlimited rice and is more expensive. prices are generally 130 pesos and more, but you'll likely spend much more.
Personally, I prefer the L' Kaisei in SM City. Having unlimited rice is a huge plus. Because, lets face it, who eats just one rice, especially when they don't give you much to begin with? I will usually also get their hot green tea. They serve it for only 20 pesos and they leave the tea kettle on the table. It is enough tea for at least two people including refills.
